During these days, I went on a road trip around Spain where I started in Bilbao, drove to Valladolid, then drove to Segovia, and round the the west and south of Madrid and finally into Valencia.
I got some really good pictures that I wanted to paint including a night scene of Bilbao where I want to paint this onto a big canvas. The Segovia viaduct was another picture I took but doing all those arches will be a nightmare. It was a good picture I took of both the castle and viaduct of Segovia.
I did manage to complete an oil painting of Valladolid when I was there. The painting was a picture of the fountain in front of a 19th century building with the park and path through the park in the foreground. It was the first time I painted a fountain in my pointillist style and it turned out quite successfully. I think it was because the painting was still wet and the white paint on top of the existing points spread a little and made the effect look a lot like water spraying upwards.
Post Segovia, I only took a few pictures and not really anything else when I was in Valencia. All-in-all, I got some great "ammo" during my trip to Spain for larger paintings
