Welcome to the second day of the blog about the daily life of a modern unknown artist.
A quick summary of the day, I have recently finished my second painting in my chosen style of pointillism and I am looking to continually test myself. My first painting in this style was a classic riverside and the second one was a building (more specifically Hampton Court Palace) and I am thinking about testing myself by trying to do a portrait of someone.
Another thing on the back of my mind is that my dots are not perfectly round like the dots in mandala patterns so I thought I may use a mandala dotter and use that to make the dots for my portrait which also greatly increases the difficulty. Having said this, I quite like the irregular dots so it may be that I use the mandala dotter for portraits and paint brushes for landscapes. In case you are wondering what a mandala dotter looks like, I have added an image below.

I know that painting is meant to be a free and creative activity but I quite like creating and adhering to some rules which I make up through experience.
Looking at other aspects of being a modern artist, I had a whopping 7 whole pageviews over the last 24hrs so not much is happening from a visibility point-of-view. Hopefully this will get better over time. Fingers crossed.
With only 7 pageviews, there is no chance of getting orders from those so I am considering posting my items on other platforms like eBay and Etsy. I heard that Etsy relies on marketing as well so it may just be an eBay thing. I have also looked at Instagram and Facebook marketplace but my follower count on Instagram is woeful so this needs improving as well. I guess I just need to keep at it.

And that is it for today!
